What many don&#039;t know: those who use such obviously illegal offers are not operating in a harmless gray area, but are generally committing a legal violation \u2013 with potential civil and criminal consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why illegal IPTV streaming is risky<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Streaming from an obviously illegal source creates copies on the device that \u2013 unlike normal browsing \u2013 are not covered by the copyright exception for temporary reproductions. The European Court of Justice clarified this in 2017 (Judgment &quot;Filmspeler&quot;, C-527\/15).
